01 / Kids Cooking Series
Following the Newton school calendar we run 3 multiple week sessions throughout the school year for various age groups; Fall, Winter, and Spring. These classes meet once a week and run from 1 hour and up to 2 hours. Each session has a general theme and as in any of our classes each student brings home all of their creations to share! Each class is a mix of cooking and baking. All skill levels are welcome. You can join a session at any time and we will prorate you for any missed classes. 6 - 9 YEARS
In these 1.5-hour drop-off classes students begin to develop their cutting, chopping, mixing, and teamwork skills. Each child works in partnership with another student and solo to create up to two delicious dishes per week.
9 - 11 YEARS
In these 2-hour classes students will learn intermediate techniques such searing, sauteing, and folding. Menus and recipes become more complex. They will create 2-3 dishes per week.
11 + YEARS
In these 2-hour classes students master more advanced kitchen skills such as seasoning to taste, culinary terminology, and knife skills. More sophisticated menus are the hallmark for this age group. They will create 2-3 dishes per week.
02 / Adult & Child Workshops
Workshops are offered on Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons, and during school vacation weeks. Each adult and child team creates a delicious menu that they will take home to share with their family while learning about new ingredients and developing kitchen skills.
Sample themes for these adult and child workshops are: I Love Chocolate, Sushi, Pasta Dinner from Scratch, 1, 2, 3, Bake!, Everyday Italian, C is for Cookie!, special holiday themes, and more.
Adult and Child workshops are offered for two age groups: Ages 3 and up (1-1/2 hours) and Ages 5 and up (2 hours). Details are in the title or class description.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions: No need to look for a specific menu. With $15-$30 charge we can add substitutions to any of the menus.

03 / Teen Cooking Classes
In addition to our summer programs and school week series we offer a wide range of classes for teens on Sunday afternoons and during school vacation weeks.
These classes for ages 12 and up range from knife skills, baking and cake decorating to international cuisines and basic meal planning.
04 / Girl Scouts Badge Programs
Let Create a Cook customize a private virtual or in-person cooking class for your Girl Scout troop. From Brownies to Ambassadors, our programs focus on the specific requirements needed to earn your badge, learning new life skills and most importantly, creating a yum to enjoy at home!

05/ School Vacation Classes
Available over December, February and April school breaks, based on the Newton Public School Calendar. We also try to offer them when the kitchens have space during March break for private schools.
The school vacation classes are offered “a la carte” and we offer an assortment of themes for Adult & Child teams, Teens, and for the 7-11 age group.

We offer programs for two age groups.
11+ programs full day sessions run from 9:30am to 3:30pm
7-10-year-old programs are half day sessions. Morning sessions are 9:30am-12:30pm. Afternoon sessions are 2:30pm-5:30pm.
